Brownstown Township
Roofing Experts
Brownstown Charter Township is one of Wayne County's nine original townships — 30+ square miles stretching from the southern edge of Woodhaven down toward the Lake Erie shoreline, split into three connected segments by the incorporated cities of Flat Rock, Rockwood, and Woodhaven. That geography means Brownstown's roofing needs are diverse: older ranches and split-levels from the 1950s and '60s share the township with mid-century colonials and newer developments like Timber Creek, Dawnshire, and Woodland Heights subdivisions.
We know Brownstown's roads. Telegraph Road, Arsenal Road, King Road, Sibley Road, Van Horn Road, West Jefferson Avenue, and Huron River Drive — we've worked on roofs along all of them. The township's proximity to Lake Erie means weather rolls in hard and fast here. Hailstorms, high winds off the lake, and heavy snow loads are regular events that shorten roof lifespans and generate insurance claims every season.
Whether you're near the Brownstown Township Hall on Telegraph and King, the Wegienka Elementary School on Arsenal Road, the Brownstown Trail network along King Road and Allen Road, or out near the Lake Erie Metropark waterfront on West Jefferson — Protecht Exteriors is right in your backyard. We respond fast, work clean, and stand behind every job with our full workmanship warranty.
Brownstown also carries significant commercial roofing demand. The Amazon distribution center and the GM Chevrolet Volt Battery Plant off Sibley and King Roads are among the larger industrial facilities in the township — and smaller commercial and retail properties line the Telegraph Road corridor from top to bottom.
🏛️ One of Michigan's Oldest Communities
Brownstown was established in 1827, making it one of Michigan's nine original townships — even predating Michigan's statehood. Hull's Trace North Huron River Corduroy Segment, built in 1812, was the first military and first federal road in the United States and runs through the township. That deep-rooted history means Brownstown's housing stock is among the most varied in Downriver — from original farmsteads to modern subdivisions built in 2024.
